Zurab Davitashvili

Zurab Davitashvili (born 1953), PH.D. (Doctor of Sciences) in International Relations (2003), PH.D. (candidate of Sciences) in Geography (1982), is full professor, former chair (1996-2006) and head of the Department of International Relations (2006-2021) at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University . The field of his scientific interests is geopolitics, nationalism, ethnic geography, ethnic conflicts and political problems of the Southern Caucasus. Courses he teaches are: Geopolitics of the Southern Caucasus; World Historical and Political Geography; Nationalism and International Relations; Globalization and Global Issues.Zurab Davitashvili is author of more than 70 scientific articles and 6 textbooks for universities and high schools. His main monographs are: The Geography of Georgia. Problems and Perspectives (With I. Bondyrev and V. Singh). 2015 “Springer”.
