Irakli Chkhadze is PhD in Cultural Studies, Associate Professor at the Institute of Cultural Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. He has the experience of participation in various international and local projects, among them: “Georgia: Trauma and Triumph on the Way to Independence“ financed by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation in 2019-2022. Irakli Chkhaidze is the author of several scientific publications on the urgent issues of post-Communist Transformation of Georgia. In 2022 he published the monograph “’Angel’ vs. ‘Devil’: Controversial Face of the West in Georgia.” He is a co-author of the anthology “Nationalism in a Transnational Age” published by De Gruyter in 2021. In 2023, Irakli Chkhaidze became the winner of the mobility grant program announced by the European Union for Georgian researchers. His project "Between Two Worlds: National Populism and the West in Post-Revolutionary Georgia" is to be implemented as part of a research visit to the Central European University (Budapest, Vienna).
