Ghia Nodia

Ghia Nodia is a professor of politics at Ilia Chavchavadze State University in Tbilisi, Georgia. He is also the founder and chairman of the Caucasus Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development (CIPDD), an independent public policy think tank in Tbilisi, Georgia. In February–December 2008, he served as the minister for education and science of Georgia.

His recent publications include Democracy (in Georgian, Tbilisi: Ilia State University Publishing, 2019), and articles “Democracy’s Inevitable ElitesJournal of Democracy, January 2020, and The New Georgia: Politics, Economy and Society, in: Galina M.
